Members of The Lemelson Foundation's Board of Directors
In addition to Board Chair Dorothy Lemelson, the Foundation's Board of Directors includes her sons, Eric and Robert, and their wives, Jennifer and Susan.
Eric Lemelson and Jennifer Bruml Lemelson
Eric Lemelson is the owner and manager of Lemelson Vineyards, a producer of Pinot noir and other cool-climate wines located in Carlton, Oregon. He received a J.D. in Environmental and Natural Resources Law from Lewis and Clark Law School in Portland in 1992. He has been a member of the Oregon State Bar since 1993, and directed a research center on water law and policy at Lewis and Clark from 1994-1997. He is also Co-Vice President and Treasurer of The Lemelson Foundation. Prior to attending law school, Eric worked as a campaign staffer on local, state, and national political
campaigns, and as a legislative aide. Eric is a member of the Oregon Global Warming Commission; founder of the Oregon Climate PAC; and a Board Member of the Oregon League of Conservation Voters, 1000 Friends of Oregon; the Pacific Environmental Advocacy Center; and several other NGOs
and private companies.
Jennifer Bruml Lemelson is a member of the Board of Directors of the Lemelson Foundation. She is currently coordinating a school garden program at a public elementary in Oregon, while participating in the first Farm to School initiative in the state. Jennifer received her BA from Boston University, and continues to pursue her artistic focus in pottery. Jennifer married Eric Lemelson in 1999. They have a son, Jeremiah.
Dr. Robert Lemelson and Susan Morse
Robert Lemelson, Ph.D., is co-Vice President and Secretary of The Lemelson Foundation. Rob is an anthropologist who received his M.A. from the University of Chicago, and Ph.D. from the Department of Anthropology, UCLA. He is currently a lecturer in the departments of anthropology and psychology at UCLA. He was a Fulbright scholar in Indonesia in 1996-1997, has conducted research for the World Health Organization, and is additionally trained as a clinical psychologist. His area of specialty is Southeast-Asian Studies, psychological anthropology and transcultural psychiatry. He is also the president and founder of The Foundation for Psychocultural Research, a non-profit research foundation supporting research and training in the neurosciences and social sciences.
Susan Morse is an architect, painter, and founding member of the Foundation's Board of Directors. Susan received her M.A. from the University of Chicago, Division of Social Sciences, with a focus on public policy. She worked in the field of educational policy before turning to architecture. She earned her Masters in Architecture (M.Arch) from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-ARC) and is currently the design principal of SML Design Studio. Susan married Robert Lemelson in 1987. They have two children, Noah and Zoe.
