Sept. 9, 2009 – Among the winners announced today for The Wall Street Journal 2009 Technology Innovation Awards was recent Lemelson-MIT Sustainability winner Joel Selanikio and his company DataDyne. The nonprofit was picked from more than 500 entries for their free EpiSurveyor software that helps health care officials in developing countries use mobile devices to collect data on immunization rates, vaccine supplies and other health-care related information.

August 18 - The National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance (NCIIA) has announced a limited number of $500 stipends are available for expenses related to developing biomedical innovations for participation in the BMEidea competition. The deadline for stipend applications is November 6, 2009.

August 3 – Showcasing how youth can make a difference in the world, the winners of the 2009 Invent Your World Challenge are already hard at work showing off their inventions.

July 24 - Only 200 days until over 250 leading social entrepreneurs, business and thought leaders from around the globe will come together at Tech 4 Society, a celebration showcasing technological solutions and inventions that are revolutionizing social change around the world.

Brought together as part of the collaboration between Ashoka and the Lemelson Foundation, the landmark event will take place Feb. 11-13, 2010 in Hyderabad, India and will feature Ashoka-Lemelson Fellows as well as other luminaries in the field. Participants will share vital insights, perspectives, and experiences through a keynote address, plenary sessions, and panel discussions.
