Walker Art Center - 'Design for the Other 90%' Exhibition

May 24 - September 7, 2008 (Minneapolis, MN)

Design for the Other 90%, developed by the Smithsonian Institution's Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum, highlights the growing trend among designers to create affordable and socially responsible objects for the vast majority of the world's population (90 percent) not traditionally serviced by professional designers. The exhibition, divided into sections focusing on water, shelter, health and sanitation, education, energy and transportation, highlights objects developed to empower global populations surviving under the poverty level or recovering from a natural disaster.

Situated in the Center's Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, the exhibition is free to the public and open from 11am-5pm on Tues, Wed, Fri, Sat and Sun, and 11am-9pm on Thurs, through September 7, 2008. Visit Walker Art Center - Design for the Other 90% for further details.
