Growing African Businesses and Coffee Through Financing Assistance

In poor regions, people need more than awareness of new technologies that can improve their productivity and quality of life. They also require access to the capital that will enable them to put these innovations to use.

Root Capital is a non-profit social investment fund offering affordable financial services to farmer cooperatives in Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa. With a loan from the Lemelson Foundation, Root Capital is providing loans to cooperatives in East Africa for water-efficient coffee processing technology.
