Many of the Foundation's staff in Portland, OR volunteered for Oregon MESA Day on May 13. MESA (Math, Engineering, Science, Achievement) — an organization that spans eight states — provides middle school and high school students who are underrepresented in the fields of math, engineering, science and technology with the skills, knowledge and opportunities to develop their talents, explore technology-based careers, enter college and compete successfully in the workforce. Oregon MESA Day brought nearly 400 MESA students together to compete in a series of activities that led to the selection of two teams that will represent Oregon in a national MESA competition in June. Congratulations to the winning teams from Portland's Ockley Green Middle School and Franklin High School.
