Brandon Martin

Brandon Martin is an entrepreneur and athletics coach driven to improve safety in contact sports, especially for young athletes.
He was inspired to innovate after watching an ESPN story about Donavan Hill, a 13-year old who became paralyzed while playing football. He sketched an idea on paper for a device that wraps around a player’s chest to reinforce a proper “heads-up” technique and prevent serious head, neck, and spinal injuries.

He co-founded Reaction Technologies with fellow former athlete Marcus Graham to bring this product to life and enhance player safety. In 2021, they were accepted into VentureWell‘s ASPIRE program to accelerate their startup.
Through the program’s mentorship, support, and network, they grew the business and continued to test the product. Though invented for football, it’s a versatile and innovative athletic accessory that can be applied to other high-contact sports like rugby, basketball, and soccer.
