Improving lives through invention

LMIT Student Prize

Celebrating inventors and highlighting their achievements through recognition awards

The Lemelson-MIT Program celebrates outstanding inventors and inspires young people to pursue creative lives and careers through invention. Jerry and Dolly Lemelson founded the Lemelson-MIT Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1994, and it is administered by MIT’s School of Engineering. This program includes the Lemelson-MIT Student Prize.

The annual $10,000–$15,000 prize honors exceptional teams of undergraduate students and individual graduate students who have inventions in categories that can make an impact in significant sectors of the economy: healthcare, transportation and mobility, food/water and agriculture and consumer devices.
