Samir Ibrahim

(SunCulture)

Samir Ibrahim is on a mission to create and distribute life-changing products to smallholder farmers in Africa. As the CEO of Kenya-based startup SunCulture — co-founded with Charles Nichols — he harnesses off-grid solar power to provide farmers with access to water, lighting, irrigation, and mobile charging.

As one of Africa’s largest providers of agro-solar systems, SunCulture’s affordable, solar-powered water pumps and customized irrigation systems help farmers increase crop yields and improve efficiency — all while protecting the environment.

In 2025, Ibrahim was named to the TIME100 Climate 2025 list for SunCulture’s catalyzing impact in climate technology in sub-Saharan Africa.

In an interview with VentureWell, he shared his vision to become a “global force in climate adaptation, mitigation, and rural economic empowerment.”
